An explosive report is causing a stir:
the US government is said to be considering plans to place the Gaza Strip under trusteeship for years
– and to resettle the population.
According to a media report, the US government is considering taking over the Gaza Strip
and resettling the population there.
The US newspaper ‘Washington Post’ further reported that the Gaza Strip
is to be placed under a US-administered trust for at least ten years.
The paper referred to a 38-page prospectus circulating within the government.
The two million inhabitants are to be either encouraged to leave for another country,
or moved to cordoned-off zones within the coastal strip.
Financial incentives for Gaza residents
According to the Washington Post,
public and private investment in so-called megaprojects will see the construction of factories for electric vehicles,
data centres, beach resorts and high-rise residential buildings, among other things.
Any Palestinian willing to leave the Gaza Strip would receive $5,000 (around €4,280) and a year’s worth of food, it added.
